Obituary for Marilyn Joan Shamess

Loving Memory

Marilyn Joan Shamess (nee Telfer)
Passed away Sunday, March 11th 2018
at the Espanola Regional Hospital after suffering
complications from influenza and pneumonia

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Kenneth “Ken” Shamess, her step son Steven Shamess (Lynn) and their 5 children. Predeceased by parents Herbert and Katharine Telfer (nee Robson) and her brother Herbert Telfer. Also survived by her sisters; Wendy Ray(Jim), Sharron Colbert (Gary), Vikki Paquette (Bert), Marcia Lessard (Andre) and Deedra Telfer. She will be sadly missed by her many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many friends through her involvement with the Whitefish District Lions. Marilyn served as President, Secretary and Treasurer, and received awards in honor of her dedication to the community. She was also a member of the Beaver Lake Club Association. Marilyn will be forever remembered for her determination and love of family, life and laughter.

Reception to follow

She will be buried alongside her parents in the Park Lawn Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers a donation in her name can be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation - Cancer Centre or to the Whitefish District Lions would be appreciated by the family.
