Cherished grandmother of Greg, Krysten, Wyatt, Willow, Shane, Kayla, Christopher, Amelia, Cody, Sam, Justin, Rebecca, and great grandchildren Peyton, Mason, Riley, Lucas, Mathew, Devin, Myah, Zoey, Sylas, Pauly, Mathias, and Aria. Dear sister of Bertha Wabegijig (Dennis predeceased), Cynthia Belleau (Gabe), Nancy Canard, Josephine Canard (Joe), John Nebenionquit, Eric Nebenionquit, late Fred Nebenionquit predeceased (Karen Nebenionquit), late Steve Nebenionquit, late Herb Nebenionquit, and late Welland Nebenionquit all predeceased, Gregory Nebenionquit (Connie), and Lily Brideau predeceased. Special sister in law to Ralph Shawbonquit (Rose predeceased), Ken Shawbonquit (Gail), Mildred Young, and Anne McCue (Bev) both predeceased. Loved Godmother to Selena Nebenionquit and Sonya Maisonoquaishkang. Dear daughter of Sam and Noella Nebenionquit predeceased. Dear friend of Gerry Lougheed Jr.

Mary Jane was a quiet-spoken and well-respected woman whose efforts and advocacy improved the lives of others. She was a recipient of a National Aboriginal Award for her leadership, mentorship, and friendship to her community. She enjoyed going to the Casino, where she won regularly. The focus of her life was her family, and she was happiest when in their company. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
