In Loving Memory of Joan (Byrne) Vairo

Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.

Our rock has passed away. Our lives will be forever made better by her love, her passion, honesty, strong-willed nature, protective nature and big heart. She was a wonderful woman who worked so incredibly hard all her life and anyone that walked into her restaurant knew that under her humorously rough exterior was a person who would help anyone. She loved her time at the cottage. Her family was her life and she loved them dearly. She will be sadly missed but is in heaven now making poached eggs, pancakes and chocolate milk shakes 😉.

Joan is survived by her spouse of 55 years and the love of her life, Joseph Francis Vairo. Proud mother of Tina Vairo-Tanchin (spouse Ron Tanchin), Dino Vairo (spouse Stacey nee Ayers), and Joe Vairo Jr. (spouse Manuela nee Simoni). She had 6 grandchildren she adored: Jordan, Ronnie, Syra, Francesca, Marcus, and Luca. "God bless you memere, thanks for being a part of our lives."

She will be missed by her siblings Pat Byrne, Joyce Lefebvre (Denis), Darcy Byrne, and brothers in law Steve Millar and Bill Thomson. She will be sadly missed by several cousins, nephews and nieces along with special family friend Mike Marcuccio. Predeceased by family, whom she loved dearly: father Bill Byrne, mother Anne Byrne (nee Marier), granddaughter Olivia Vairo, sister Jane Millar, and sister Carol Thomson.

At Joan’s request, there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
