Who passed away Friday, April 14th, 2017 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice with loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Pierrette “Pete” Streitenberger (nee Corneau) predeceased 2015. Loving father of Bruce (Linda), Kimberley (Joe), Mark (Tamara) and Laurie (Marc). Cherished grandfather of Shanna (Kevin), David, Elena, Matthew, Clay and Fallon and great grandfather of Ella and Ryan. Dear son of George and Josephine (nee Hebig) Streitenberger both predeceased. Dear brother of Kenneth (Mathilda), Blanche Ulrich (late Richard), Delores Scheidl (Edward), Jeannette Zerff (Gregor), Roslyn Kress (Richard) and predeceased by Sylvester (Colette) and Raymond (Frances). Werner was an avid hunter and fishermen. He played the accordion in a band and they played at various nursing homes to provide entertainment for the residents. He volunteered for the Knights of Columbus and Citizen on Patrol. Werner was a very friendly person, always had a smile on his face and always had treats for the neighbours dogs when they walked by his house. He was happiest when with his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Memorial Funeral Prayers at the Lougheed Funeral Home, Hanmer-Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer, Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 1pm. (Friends may gather after 11am Saturday). Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
