Obituary for Douglas Prince

In Loving Memory of
Dr. Douglas Arthur Prince
85 years
Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.

Beloved husband of Margo (Ericksen) Prince predeceased 2012. Loving father of Michael (Anne-Marie), Jane (Blair Parker), and Andy (Tracey). Cherished grandfather of Jake (Jenna), Patrick, Brandon, Jordan, Andrew, Ashley, and great grandchild Jessa. Dear son of Arthur and Frances (Ballantyne) Prince both predeceased. Dear brother of Bill predeceased (Winn predeceased) (Carol), Ross predeceased (Carol), Joyce (Bruce), Ruth predeceased (Jerry predeceased), and Jean (Jack). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Doug served as a dedicated and dependable physician for over 50 years, caring for the sick, helping those in need, and saving lives. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his camp in Onaping. He was a curler for many years and a great fan of the sport, as well as supporting the Toronto Blue Jays. Doug will be remembered as the founder of Sunshine Wheelchair Bus, the first Handi-Transit in Canada. He was devoted to his calling in health care, only second to his love of family.
