Born in Toronto 1935, age 84 years. Died peacefully on January 21st, 2020 in the presence of her sons at Health Sciences North after battling cancer.
Daughter of Maria and Harry Mostoway (predeceased). Loving wife of 51 years of Dr. Stephen Jaroslaw Kosar (predeceased). Dear sister of Maria Botiuk (Yaroslaw) in Toronto, Ontario. Sister in law to Stephanie (predeceased) and Dr. Eugene Kosar, Mississauga, Ontario. Loving Mother of Dr. Stephen E. Kosar (Nancy), William Kosar (Janice), Paul Kosar, Andrew Kosar (Andrea), all in Sudbury, Ontario and Dr. Greg Kosar (Lina) of Kelowna, B.C. Grandchildren John (Leeann), Billy (Becca), Sarah (Andrew), Christina (Travis), Nicholas (Olenka), Kathleen, Stephen and Natalie. Great grandmother to Colt and Bennett of Sudbury. Dear Aunt of Tamara Botiuk (Toronto), Roman Botiuk (Toronto), Yuri Botiuk (London UK), Lesia Kosar (Toronto) and Dr. Katherine Kosar (Mississauga).
Barbara moved to the Sudbury area in 1959 with husband Stephen. They lived in Garson, Coniston, and then Sudbury. She was a loving mother and great cook, raising five boys with healthy appetites. Barbara was involved in the Ukrainian community serving in many capacities. She was active in the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s’ League and served as its president.
Barbara’s family sincerely thanks the Staff at Health Sciences North for their compassionate care for her in her final days. Barbara will be greatly missed by all.
