It is with great sadness that I am learning just now of Ron's passing. I recall Ron as a student at the School of Dance in Ottawa, where I also studied dance. He was caracterised by his broad smile, great enthusiasm and dedication to his craft. I also had the priviledge of sharing the stage with him in some Orpheus productions in the early 80's, where I greatly admired his vivacity and skill as a dancer.

I was thrilled of finding out his being cast in the touring production of The Phantom of the Opera upon attending a performance at the National Art Centre in Ottawa. The last time our roads crossed was in Ottawa's Byward market area, where upon my asking if he still danced he just jumped in the air and clicked his heels...

Unbeknowst to him, Ron has inspired me in more ways than he knew.
