With heavy hearts the family of Giuseppina (Josephine) Di Gioseffo announce her peaceful passing on October 16th, 2017. Born in Nevers, France May 28, 1925 to Anna Maria (De Monte) and Luciano Pascoli, the 5th of seven, she emigrated from Italy in 1954 with her husband Giuseppe and young son Agostino to Sudbury where she claimed the streets were paved with gold. A hard working and industrious woman, she was never ashamed to say that both she and her Zeff were able to “do the best for our kids” by pushing a mop and broom. She was a woman of faith. Prayer and Mass were a daily regimen and she faithfully attended Christ the King Prayer Group meetings for over 30 years. “Put everything in God’s Hands” was her answer to all her life’s challenges. Left to mourn are her children Augustine and his wife Loretta, Amelia and her husband Killian de Blacam, grandchildren Joey and Alexandra Di Gioseffo whom she loved so much and was so proud of, brother Giombata (wife Lorenzina predeceased) several nieces, especially Maria and Vicki, and nephews, and their families in Canada, Italy, and Switzerland. We are comforted by the belief she is reunited with her beloved Zeff, her parents, and siblings Gino (wife, Luigia), Norina (husband Sebastiano), Angela (husband Ciro), Giulietta (husband Giuseppe), Valentina (husband Erminio), nephew and confidant Emilio, and extended family members. We wish to thank Dr. Bansal, Dr. Tilbe, Bayshore nurses particularly Jenna, Nurse Practitioner Claire Warren, Jennifer, Chantal, and the behind the scenes members of the Shared Care Team CCAC for their assistance in helping us respect Giuseppina’s wish to remain at home until the very end. We cannot adequately express our gratitude to our personal support worker Bigi-our angel. Mass of Christian burial at Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury October 21st, 2017 at 10 A.M. with entombment to follow at the Civic Mausoleum.
