Walter (Vladimir) Chornenky

Born on May 20, 1926 in Creighton Mine. Passed away peacefully on Friday November 3 2017. Loving son of Iwan (John) and Karolina (Caroline) (nee Mihaluk) Chornenky (predeceased) . Devoted husband of Anne Hickey Donahue (predeceased 1994). Stepfather to Sharon Marie Burnett (predeceased 2003). Loving husband and dear friend of Dorothy McCarthy. Dear father of Carolyn (Cally) Chornenky (Greg Bannoff) of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Sarah Bannoff of London, England and Alexis Bannoff (Jeff Dunn) of Ottawa. Proud great-grandfather of Evelyn Rose. Dear brother of Anna Willgos (husband Edward - predeceased) of Sudbury. Will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Walter retired from Inco in 1982 with 34 years service. He moved to Lively in 1952. He served on the Library board and was a founding member of the Lively Golf & Country Club, serving on the board in various positions, including President and manager until retiring in 1982. Walter enjoyed working with people, gardening, golfing, curling, sports, crafts, baking and especially dancing. He also enjoyed travelling and wintered in Texas for a number of years.
